Experience-centered body psychotherapy

The Eigenraum Approach

Eigenraum Sphere

The Eigenraum Approach is a body-psychotherapeutic framework developed by M.Sc.Psych. Nazim Venutti through his work with clients and psychotherapists. It is especially (but not exclusively) suitable for working with neurodivergent people.

At the heart of the approach are two key concepts: its evidence base and the inner world of experience. Through the way we perceive, feel, and respond, we can understand ourselves better and recognize our needs, strengths, challenges, and potential.

Rather than orienting ourselves toward social expectations, internal pressure to adapt, or unconscious conflicts, conscious experience becomes the starting point for developing individuality, authenticity, and inner freedom. In doing so, not only do unconscious parts come to light, but also deeply rooted values—which can be recognized and cultivated into lived virtues.

The Eigenraum Approach is practiced by people who are not agents of averageness, but who strive for human development through diversity and individuality.

The goal of the Eigenraum Approach is to help people be immediate, authentic, and free. To overcome the constraints of one’s own unconscious and of social constructs in order to live in balance with body, mind, and environment.

How did the professional training in the Eigenraum Approach come about?

Nazim Venutti

Because of the profound philosophy underlying Nazim Venutti’s way of working, psychologists, psychotherapists, and coaches became a significant part of his client base early on.

Over time, a therapeutic community emerged that wanted not only to experience, but also to understand and pass on what it had learned firsthand. From this impulse, the first trainings began in 2017—initially cautiously, as pilot projects.

Due to demand, further training cohorts followed by 2023—even though the approach still had no name at the time and was taught as a meta-therapeutic framework.

Today, the training has a more refined structure and system, while preserving its focus on individual development and humanity. The Eigenraum Approach is not a rigid method, but a living framework for thinking about therapy and coaching. It also enables practitioners to use a range of methods, techniques, and Interventions, which can be applied flexibly and based on the situation.

The training is primarily designed for people in healthcare professions, but it is also open to anyone who is seriously interested in individual and collective healing, development, and freedom.

Neurodiversity

A special focus of the Eigenraum Approach is neurodiversity—the idea that the neurological diversity we observe should not primarily be pathologized. Rather, it is a natural, evolutionary process.

However, there is a large gap between this modern perspective on neurological differences and the unconscious beliefs held by neurodivergent people. Many often live lives that are not in harmony with their actual needs, strengths, and challenges—a discrepancy that not infrequently affects their mental and physical health.

Through the Eigenraum Approach, neurodivergent people learn to perceive and recognize their own nature beyond labels such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or high sensitivity (HSP). The goal is to shape a way of living that is in harmony with one’s own nervous system and that enables long-term stability and balance.
